Grant Denyer has temporarily stepped down as the host of Channel Ten’s  Celebrity Name Game  due to ongoing health issues.

Rove McManus is set to fill in Denyer’s role at the game show for two weeks.

According to  TV Tonight, Denyer contracted a stomach parasite from a family holiday in Bali.

“The show must go on, and I owe Rove McManus a big thank you for stepping in to my small shoes and hosting  Celebrity Name Game  for a short stint,” Denyer said in a statement.

“A consummate professional, household name and all-around top bloke, it’s no wonder they chose Rove to take over while I take some time to recover. The fact that Rove fits my wardrobe is only an added-bonus.”

In an Instagram post, Denyer shared that he has since returned to filming at the studio for future episodes. “I’m all good now,” he wrote, encouraging viewers to “enjoy Rove’s shows this week”.

The news comes as McManus prepares for his own show  Saturday Night Rove, which is set to launch on Channel Ten on August 24.

Earlier this year, Denyer  took time off his radio and TV hosting commitments  to treat his annular disc tear.
