Queen Elizabeth is a woman of particular choice and consistency. She owns a staggering 200 handbags from the same brand (Launder London), has five dogs of the same breed (corgis, of course), and won’t allow this one particular ingredient into the royal kitchen.

“At Buckingham Palace you don’t cook with garlic,” former palace chef John Higgins told the National Post. “I suppose in case you get the royal burp.”

The Queen also abides by the low carb rule, completely avoiding rice, potatoes and pasta, unless the palace is entertaining guests. It’s not all rabbit food though. The longest reigning monarch loves chocolate with her favourite dessert dishes including chocolate biscuit cake, chocolate mousse, and chocolate ganache sponge cake. Other favourites include fresh fruit like mangos, strawberries, and peaches, especially ones grown at Windsor Castle.

Her majesty is no stranger to a nightcap either, often tipping of the evening with a gin and dubonnet.
