Sylvia Jeffreys will be co-hosting Channel Nine’s red carpet coverage at the Logie awards this Sunday.

But sadly, the 33-year-old will not be accompanied by her husband as she revealed to  News Corp  that she will be arriving to the event solo.

“He’s not coming this year, because he’ll be up at 3 am the next morning starting his new role,” she said.

After being let go from Nine Network at the end of last year, Peter will be starting his new job at Sky News the day after the Logie awards on Monday, July 1.

The 37-year-old will host the network’s flagship program  First Edition  alongside Laura Jayes.

Sitting down with  The Daily Telegraph  last month, the former foreign correspondent said he’s “excited” and “thrilled” to be offered the position.

“I’m excited. Thrilled about it, actually,” he said. “It’s a great challenge, a wonderful opportunity and a fantastic privilege to be asked to be part of the Sky News team.”

Peter was sacked from Channel Nine after 15 years of working with the broadcaster. He received the news during his brother Karl Stefanovic’s wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico.

The decision was made after the journalist was caught talking badly about  the network’s executives with his brother Karl.

Speaking to  The Herald Sun  on Saturday, Peter said he was “embarrassed” and “ashamed” as he got his “network into trouble”.

He said he is now in a much better place and apologising for the debacle was the “right thing to do”.
