Congratulations are in order for Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic, who recently announced that they’re expecting their first baby.
Jeffreys confirmed the news on Tuesday night’s 9NewsWatch by explaining how a glass of red wine is as good as an hour of exercise. This is due to resveratrol, which is a compound found in red wine and apparently gives the same benefits as exercise.
“You’ll all have to have one for me because I won’t be drinking for a while with a baby on the way,” she said, beaming.
“My husband Pete and I were so delighted to share the news with you last night and we want to say thank you so much for all the beautiful messages that we’ve received in the last 24 hours saying congratulations. We cannot wait to meet our little baby boy next year. We are definitely feeling all the love. And thank you very much for all your well wishes!”
The happy couple also shared their news on Instagram. Mum-to-be Jeffreys posted a photo standing alongside her husband Stefanovic.
“We’re having a baby boy and we’re totally over the moon!!,” wrote the 33-year-old.
Similarly, Stefanovic took to his own Instagram to share the same message, saying: “Soon to be a family of three and we are rapt! Good thing I’m already match fit with the whole no sleep thing.”
In Stefanovic’s snap, he and Jeffrey’s are holding a card which reads, “IT’S A BOY.”
It didn’t take long for friends and colleagues to send their well wishes, with Bec Judd commenting on Jeffrey’s post with “Woohoo!!!!!! Best news. Congratulations guys.”
“Amazing news! Congratulations you two,” commented Phoebe Burgess. “Big kiss xxx.”
Also leaving a comment was sister-in-law Jasmine Yarbrough, saying: “YAAAYY SISSYS.”
Nine Network and 2UE presenter Ben Fordham commented on Stefanovic’s post writing, “Holy. What. Wow. Congrats you two. You will make fine parents. Little fella will have the best of both worlds. Best news I’ve heard in ages.”
Deborah Knight said, “Way to go Pete!! So happy for you and Sylv – best news.”
The joyous news comes two years after Jeffreys and Stefanovic wed in a beautiful ceremony in Kangaroo Valley in New South Wales in April 2017.
