Rafael Nadal is stuck in the middle of an insane French Open controversy and it’s all due to the colour of his shirt.
The 11-time champion took to the court in a fluorescent yellow top as he versed past German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 6-2 6-1 6-3.
But despite his outstanding performance, many fans took to Twitter to express their outrage over the colour of his kit.
The accusations came after people claimed the colour of his clothes were similar to the colour of the tennis balls, which many thought put Hanfmann at an unfair disadvantage.
According to viewers, Hanfmann could have lost sight of the ball if it passed Nadal before it reached the net.
Many believed the colour should have a ban imposed.
Watching the French Open- Rafa Nadal is wearing a tennis ball yellow shirt. How on earth is that possibly legal?

Nadal’s shirt SHOULD be banned, that’s an unfair advantage. I applaud him for wearing that ugly color in the Desire for an advantage but it shouldn’t be allowed to happen

Do you think it gives an unfair advantage with the fact that the ball can get lost in the shirt tho?

This is not the first outfit controversy to surround the French Open, with many critiquing Serena Williams’ choice of attire.
