With his famous father watching from the stands, Cruz channeled classic Hewitt energy, complete with the iconic backwards cap, as he dismantled his opponent in just 51 minutes. The victory marked a strong return for the young Aussie, who crashed out in the first round of the juniors at the French Open in May but clearly found his rhythm on the famed grass courts of Wimbledon. Currently ranked 827th on the ATP Tour and gaining momentum on the ITF circuit, Cruz recently made a run to the final of the M25 ITF event in Launceston, falling just short against fellow Aussie Jason Kubler.
