It has proven to be a challenging year for the Denyer family and finally, after a year of disappointing blow, both Grant and Chezzi have shown they still have their positive attitude and big smiles.

The 42-year-old TV presenter started off 2019 with a rigorous work schedule as he hosted Dancing With the Stars for their live shows in Sydney, along with his morning breakfast show on  2Day FM –  all while squeezing in hosting gigs for shows including  Celebrity Name Game.

However, Grant’s health took a turn for the worst when he was hospitalised in July after rupturing a disc while working on his family’s Bathurst property.

He was left bedridden and in pain for weeks.

Then, he got the news his radio show that he hosted alongside Ed Kavalee and Ash London was getting axed.

However, while many might have a negative outlook on their situation, Denyer told  The Australian Women’s Weekly  he was looking forward to spending Christmas with his daughters and wife Chezzi.

“Having kids is the best part of Christmas. I love the music, I love carols and I love  creating that festive feel at home,” Grant admitted.

“My dad once produced a Christmas album for charity and we play that every year. He must have made it in about 1985. We all know the words and the songs and it just has a very nostalgic feel when we play it.”

Chezzi also revealed she couldn’t be more excited for this year’s festivities with her favourite people in the world.

“Carols are a big part of our Christmas! But it’s also all about family. Health, happiness and family is all  we’re looking for this Christmas,” she said.

“The start of the year was pretty tough for us health wise, but we’re finishing strong.”
