Lisa Wilkinson has lashed out at her former employer Channel Nine over a misleading article on one of the network’s websites.
The former Today host took to Twitter after Nine’s lifestyle website 9Honey published an article titled “How I Discovered My Step-Daughter Hates Me” with an old video of Wilkinson at the top of the story.
The video showed Wilkinson holding a baby during a segment with fellow former host Karl Stefanovic, while the story talked about the experience of a woman named Samantha with her 12-year-old stepdaughter Tia.
“Come on @Channel9 This is a low act,” Wilkinson wrote on the Twitter post published on the weekend.Â
“I’m used to it from rotten online scammers & the weekly trash mags, but you should be better than this.”

Wilkinson posted another clarification: “Just to set the #fakenews record straight, I have been happily married to my husband [Peter FitzSimons] for almost 27 years, and I don’t have a step-daughter called Tia who hates me.”

A Nine spokesperson said: “The story is about the author’s parenting issues, not about anyone else, and the video is an old parenting clip with Lisa and Karl and clearly titled ‘How Modern Parenting Has Changed Over The Years’.”
Wilkinson left Nine in 2017 after almost 10 years of hosting the Today show following a pay dispute. She is now a co-host of The Project on Channel Ten.
