The  Today  show has introduced plenty of new faces since the beginning of the year.

And now, Channel Nine has announced another addition to their line-up, and this time, it’s a controversial one.

According to reports by  The Australian, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has been signed on to appear on the breakfast show once a fortnight.

While the infamous politician isn’t tied to a contract, Channel Nine confirmed the news to  Yahoo Lifestyle  that for each appearance a “small donation will be made to a worthy local charity in her electorate”.

I hope the tick bite doesn’t show up too much. Just about to go on #Bolt #PaulineHanson

The  Today  show has been on a downwards spiral as they try and keep up with the juggernaut ratings their rival on Channel Seven  Sunrise  rakes in. The Nine Network believes that introducing Pauline to the show will provide more of a “right view” to the show to help  bring in more viewers.

And it’s proven to work in the past – just  last week the  Today  show made headlines after they invited Pauline to appear to discuss the Uluru climbing ban,  which she compared to shutting down Bondi Beach.

Other outspoken politicians such as Bob Katter have also appeared on the program, and rumour has it that Nine is in talks with Jacqui Lambie about a permanent slot.
